Mudando um pouco a frase do Antoine de Saint-Exupéry no famoso livro O Pequeno Príncipe, quero trazer para vocês a reflexão sobre expectativas criadas.
Começo avisando que se trata de um assunto sensível para muitas mulheres e sei que pode parecer que estou sendo um pouco dura nas palavras. Mas quero que você saiba que estou escrevendo com toda amorosidade, quero abrir os seus olhos para um auto boicote.
Quantas vezes você teve expectativas criadas baseadas em sentimentos e vivências suas e depois, quando elas não foram atingidas, ficou muito abalada e com a sensação de fracasso?
Por muitas vezes criamos realidades ideais em nossa cabeça e incluímos terceiros nisso, daí não compartilhamos com eles todo o sonho de princesa que montamos em nossa cabeça e esperamos que eles respondam a isso.
E então, quando as coisas não saem como esperado (o que é comum de acontecer) nos frustramos, ficamos bravas com todos os envolvidos (que muitas vezes nem sabiam que estavam envolvidos!) e acabamos causando inclusive brigas.
No fim, tudo isso poderia ser evitado se, ao desenhar seu castelo, você avaliasse o quanto é realista e dividisse isso com os envolvidos – afinal, eles não têm bola de cristal!
Como assim?
Parece meio estranho falando assim, né? Então vou te dar um exemplo: Seu aniversário é em 10/10 e você quer que seu namorado te leve para jantar no Coco Bambu. Daí você joga algumas indiretas ao longo do mês de setembro, como: “Nossa, olha que legal esse restaurante”, “Deve ser preciso agendar com antecedência para ir lá”, “Soube que a comida é ótima”, “Aniversariantes ganham a sobremesa lá”, e por aí vai.
Na sua cabeça já está tudo formulado, ele vai pegar todas essas informações, agendar um jantar na melhor mesa e pronto: Melhor aniversário de todos!!!
No dia 03/10 o mozão pergunta o que você quer fazer no seu aniversário e você responde: “Ah amor, qualquer coisa me fará feliz, pode escolher!”. Enquanto isso pensa: “Ele pensa que me engana, já reservou tudo para nós!”
Daí chega o grande dia, você acorda animada, já contou para todas as suas amigas que o jantar será especial, quem sabe não rola até pedido de noivado (olha aí mais expectativas)!
A noite seu namorado te busca, diz que você vai amar a escolha e te leva para comer no Outback. Daí está ele lá, todo feliz porque sabe que você ama a costela de lá e que a noite será incrível para você. Enquanto isso, você está revoltada pensando coisas do tipo: “Como pode? Ele não ouviu nada do que eu falei? Como assim me trouxe aqui? Ele não me ama, só pode!”.
Se você quer surpresa, não crie a expectativa do que ela será.
Não sei se você já pegou a linha de raciocínio, mas vamos lá: Seu namorado não tem bola de cristal, não adianta esperar que ele leia seus pensamentos e faça as coisas como você acha que devem ser.
As informações que ele realmente tinha eram: 1) Ela não escolheu nenhum lugar; 2) disse para eu decidir porque qualquer coisa estaria bom; e 3) ela ama a costela do Outback.
O exemplo do namorado serve para todas as nossas relações. Por isso quero chamar vocês para a realidade de que a expectativa que você criou é sua, não do outro. E ninguém está no mundo para atingir suas expectativas – e nem você para atingir as expectativas do outro.
Com a soma disso ele chegou a uma conclusão que parecia ok. Você não pode cobrar do outro que entenda suas indiretas e monte todo o caminho que você quer.
Se você quer algo, é importante deixar claro para o outro. Na situação que descrevi acima seria tudo muito diferente se no dia 03 ela respondesse: “Gostaria muito de conhecer o novo restaurante, vamos lá?”.
Ah Debora, mas e a surpresa?
Se você quer surpresa, não crie a expectativa do que ela será. Se quer ser surpreendida não espere que o outro adivinhe. Se faz questão de algo comunique isso ao outro, demonstre sem medo, pois aí está claro e você pode passar a esperar aquilo dele.
Seguindo a linha de raciocínio do exemplo, se o seu aniversário fosse semana que vem o que deveria responder para o mozão hoje? Se tem coisas aí que você está esperando o outro adivinhar, pode ser um bom momento para falar.
